We havent said much about this lately after it went 8.58@ 165 on pump gas.

We are going to be running in some X275 classes so we brought it to Rhodes Custom Auto. He is by FAR the most talented chassis shop i have ever seen. His work is unreal how clean it is. Here is a few pics of how our car looks now. We will be making a few changes to the setup once we get the car back. We have a Holley Dominator for it and we switch it to an RPM Transmissions powerglide and 9 Inch setup. We got alumistars for the front and will be running a 15 inch rear wheel. We will be running on race gas since most classes consider Meth a second power adder. We also have about another 10-15 PSI of boost to go.

Sadly x275 isnt 1/4 anymore... sucks because it killed the fan base.

It was fun watching them at the shake down when they still did it 1/4 mile. But still alot of fun to see a 4.59 in the 1/8.

x275 is one of the largest growing classes in the country
the payouts at every race (1/8th) have went up in the past few years


Your opinion is wrong. The fan base is not "killed" at all. The only race its 1/4 is imports vs domestics.

why did you keep the torque tube? you already went throught the trouble of putting a 2 speed power glide in so why not just run a drive shaft and convetional rear diff? not too up to date with my covette parts tho, so maybe my thought prosess is off base, but seem least to me like a uneccisary risk. but regardless nice build, and deffently went with one of the one most top knotch guys for the chassie work. ron always does some extremely nice work.

Not sure... been trying to finish other cars around the shop before we move so unfortunately the Z hasnt been touched.

I understand that its growing amongst racers. However, my statement was made about the fans. From what I've witnessed watching x275 for years both 1/4 and 1/8 racing that less people attend the 1/8th races. Might not be true everywhere, just what I've noticed at local tracks. I know the decision was made for safety but people like to see them run out the back door. Yes Imports vs Domestics is 1/4 and has a huge crowd, go figure...
