Default TBYRNE Yank GP- I got the wrong converter

I was involved in the group purchase a month or so ago the TByrne did for the Yank converters. Well I ordered a SS3800E converter that was made to work with a 200-4R transmission. I got a converter from Yank right on time and was fat dumb and happy.

Well I was reading a thread recently where PSJ stated that the SS3800E converters have 6 lug mounting. I was thinking to myself I think the one I got is only a 3 lug. So I got home tonight and I checked it out and sure enough it is a 3 lug and there is pen written on the box that says SS3800. This was specifically bought for a nitrous motor so I know I need the SS3800E. I went back through the threads and emails I sent in dealing with TByrne on this one and everywhere I ordered the SS3800E. I also paid the price of the SS3800E, not that I know if there was a different in price.

Now I have to send this thing back and it aint light so I am hoping TByrne or Yank does the right thing to get this situation settled. Fortunately I havent installed the TC yet so there should be zero issues with them getting me the right one. I tried TByrne tonight but I must have missed them I called right at 5PM.

Anyone else get the wrong converter?? Make sure it is 6 lug versus 3 lug cause it will definately make a difference if you are on the spray and you converter ballons and FUBARs your motor. I will post what happens but I dont forsee any problems.

PSJ thanks for mentioning the 6 lug thing because for some reason I never even thought to look until he said that and jarred my memory.

i went thru a similar thing as you. i ordered a proyank 3400 extreme and it is says it is a 6 lug and i got a 3 lug. i have a 4l80e, i called him up and he told me that they only have 3 bolt covers for the 4l80e and that it was indeed the converter i ordered.

maybe you are geting the same deal as me, seems like they should tell you about that because i was counting the 6 bolt cover as one of the benfits of that expensive converter that i paid for.

other thing is if you want to get ahold of them you will need to try ALOT harder than one call at 5pm

That's not good It sounds like Yank either tagged or made the wrong converter for this order. Give us a call today so we can have them take care of this for you.

Thanks,
Tom

I spoke with TByrne this morning and his customer service people were expecting my call and knew some background on the situation.

Looks like I ordered the correct SS3800E, TByrne's records show that I ordered the right thing and that they ordered the correct converter from Yank and were billed for the correct converter. They are contacting Yank to see where the error occured, because it is a 3 lug and it has SS3800 written on the box..

I just want to make sure that I do have the right converter because I have heard of converters that have balloned and taken out engines in the process and I dont want that to happen.

TByrne was a ton of help and the customer service girl was very friendly and helpful. They said NO DOUBT that they would ensure I got the correct converter.

Well I got a call back from TByrne and also called Mike at Yank.

I got the right converter Mike remembers building mine specifically. They dont have the 6lug shell for the 200-4r trans so that is why I got the 3 lug but I should be good to go.

Thanks Tom I aprreciate the work to confirm I got the right converter.

If only their C/S was as good as their converters.
The could have shut down almost everyother converter company by now except PI and TCI.
