Default Waking up my 5.3L

Hey there, I've been looking on youtube, reading into things and I'm extremely interested in making my 5.3L more powerful. I'm only 20 and havent had anyone to teach about this kind of stuff so its going to be a very big learning experience for me. I'm looking to keep my truck as daily driver, just with a lot more power. I've been reading about LS1 and LS6 cams put into the vehicle and im not sure what to go with? what else would i have to put into the engine as for rocker arms, lifters, pushrods, etc?

I would at least recommend running some sort of cold-air intake, longtube headers, and a y-pipe. This will net a noticeable increase in power, while still retaining good daily driving characteristics.

We have many options in stock that will work with your setup, please feel free to call us with any questions, we would be happy to point you in the right direction.

you can use the stock rocker arms ,but if they have hi-miles maybe get new trunnion bearings.maybe look at a cam pkg from Texas Speed or vengeance racing.I think a good cam for a 5.3 is comp 54-455-11,great low end torque for moving a heavy truck.get a new ls2 timing chain and gaskets from TSP.go to ls1howto.com for some info and pics of a cam swap.
