Stereo & Electronics - Custom Speaker Box in Rear Seat

I have a 1999 Camaro Convertible. I am wanting to build a custom box to replace the rear seats. I cannot do without my trunk space so the rear seat area is the only real option.

I have been looking everywhere for info on either a pre-made box or plans for one I can build myself. I am looking to do possibly 4x12" for the box. I believe I will have enough CF of space for those (haven't really done any measuring yet.)

Anyone have suggestion that may help me with this endeavor??

assuming you want to keep the top of box level with the bottom of the door windows as it would look weird sticking up higher in a vert your choices are 3 maybe 4 12's in a sealed enclosure or 2 12's in a properly ported box, either way it will have to be custom built, there are NO prefabbed boxes that replace seats in cars because there just isn't the demand, as very few people are actually willing to sacrifice seating for sound.

I was afraid you would say that. But it was not totally unexpected. The rear seats in the camaro are nigh unusable for anything but children and animals.

Yeah I am wanting to keep it down low as I can. Definitely don't want to lose what little view I have out my rear mirror not to mention the PWT look of a speaker box sticking up higher than my head... :)
On the other hand it could be used as a PWT roll bar in an emergency... :D

I plan to do 2 12's in a ported myself once I find a buyer for my current sub and box that I built for my old honda so it really doesn't work well here.
