So I got out of the car the other day at the grocery store and I smelled anti freeze but I figured it was one of the cars in the parking lot. Sure as shit the next morning the low coolant message flashed on the screen. I topped it off and it hasn't come back on but I obviously have a leak. I don't see anything leaking when it runs but obviously it is leaking somewhere. Any suggestions where to start looking.

Bottom right corner of radiator. Common problem.

At least you smell it.

Depending on the year, the 04's and early 05's had radiator problems so start there.

These cars are getting older so it could be a water pump.

Ya I knew the smell right away but I was hoping it wasn't me. Its an 05, what would a radiator run for that year roughly?

$500 to put a good aftermarket one in and never have to think about it again

seems like I have seen ~$250 quoted for stock radiators

You may have to deal with another leak in 10 years, but it is a lot cheaper.

Just get a new stock rad.. there will be zero issues as the part number is for a revised version for 2007.

my 2005 went with 20,000 miles. - they were flawed with the crimp near the lower driver side

I suppose that is where my leak is, too. Last couple times I have been under the car I noticed a little bit on the sub frame. Have smelled it a couple times, also. Never leaves a puddle though. Level doesn't seem to have dropped any, either.

I would do the Alradco. Mine's seeping along the top of the tank, too.

Seems like all radiators with a plastic end tank tend to go at around 100k miles or so, give or take 10k.

Also, some have suggested since you're going to drain the cooling system, put in a 160 deg. thermostat as an easy cheap mod, just have to get the ecu done to have the fans turn on at 160 instead of factory temp.

Looks like it's easy to do. Also, if you haven't done your belts in a while, tackle those while the radiator is out!
