Default Anyone running Borla wde open, GET A BULLETT MUFFLER!

I have been running borla wide open ever since i got my car pretty much and always hate the rasp it made when slightly accelerating around 2 -2.5K so i went ahead and got a bullett 18" welded into the I pipe. What a diffirence!!!! Sounds like it should of came from the factory no more rasp, great tone, extremely happy with it. I just had to overpay for installation though b/c I had no cats and most places wouldn't touch it, err... but it was worth it. Anyone who hates the rasp, get a bullett, you won't regret it. that's it..... just giving you borla guys an option to get rid of rasp.

Do you have LTs w/ OR Y pipe? I had no rasp w/ my Borla till I went to LTs w/ no cats. Then it rasped like a ****!

I just ordered some LTs with cats to go along with my wide open Borla.....should I expect rasp with the cats too?

Where did you get your bullet muffler? I HATE the Borla rasp. Sounds good at WOT but, 2K - 2.8K sucks.

I agree..My cousin has a 2002 Firehawk and he was running Macs w/ory and wide open Borla and it rasped alot...so I told him about the bullit and he installed (18'' Dynomax) at the I pipe and now his **** rocks!!...He gets alot of compliments on his exhaust...Sounds like Borla with a cold!!..Love that sound!!

I have Pacesetter headers with no cats, and OFY pipe & a Borla, I put the medium size plate in and it sounds awesome, no rasp. before the install i was ready to go buy a Bullet muffler for the I pipe, however i'll just stick with the medium plate.

Yah, the medium plate does give a nice sound but it just wasn't loud enough for me.
It doesn't really make the car any quiter at all just a diffirent tone, sounds VERY slightly muffled, just enough to get rid of the rasp.
And yes you can get the bullett from any parts catalog or buy one used like i did, just get the 3" in/out and I would suggust the 18" one but it probably doesn't matter what length you get.

i could maybe get you one this weekend.... Have to be a small video actually... but i imagine it would be hard to tell through a video since it's not a drastic change but I'll try and see anyways.

I WAS planning on this route, then I noticed that dynomax has a 6 inch round welded muffler. I spoke w/dynomax. They said this muffler and the bullet feature the same straight through design, hence the same flow rate. The only difference is that the 6 inch welded round muffler is quieter. This is what I am going to put in my ory to quiet it down/reduce rasp.

i got slp lt's with random tec cats runnin 100% open through my borla and its bad ***. i have no rasp. i dig it cause crusing is quiet, however, if i want it loud, i punch it. people turn and look, lol. on a squed note, im getting a cam installed. i want it to sound bad *** but i think the cats are gonna mess the sound of the idle up. sould i take the cats out and run the 50% plate? sorry to hijack the thread.

I have a bullet muffler in my i-pipe and it's still raspy. I'm going to put another one in if there's room somewhere.

Maybe try a Borla XR1 instead of the bullet?
