car shuts off right before shifting?? my buddies 99 T/A m6 has h/c right as hes going to shift into any gear the car shuts off sometimes back fires but only at full throttle in high rpm any idea as to what it could be its not throwing any codes besides a a/c one cause its removed

Its my car. We have been working with the tune we replaced the fuel pump with a walbro 255 and a replaced the fuel filter. We also cleaned the maf it went away for a little and then started doing it again. We have full fuel psi and its backfiring from the exhaust. The rev limiter is set at 6800.

Definitely take some logs, and then review everything to see exactly what is happening before and when the issue occurs. There could be a number things causing this but monitoring what is going on in the tune would be a great start.
