Northwest Members - Cruise to the coast August 11th

It's looking like the second weekend in August (Saturday the 11th) some of us are going to do a cruise to the beach. I figured we could head out hwy 26 towards Cannon and Seaside. I'm either going to find a place to stay for the night or just hang out for the day and shop around at the different beaches and then cruise hwy 101 towards Astoria and then head home. There's also girls volleyball tourney that weekend in Seaside :cheers: So there will be a lot of balls being slapped around :jest: So far I've talked with and or messaged the following members who most said they were free that weekend or would try and make it depending on their current build situation.

Hahahaha. You're a funny guy. That sounds like a good cruise. My car is good to go and I don't see that changing. I'll be looking forward to it. We'll get lots of looks with all those f-bodies.

Just FYI guys, pretty much every hotel in Seaside and Cannon have a (2) night minimum stay other than Motel 6 in Seaside. $107.90 a night w/ breakfast the next morning. They have a few rooms left. I booked mine. They have a great cancellation process where you can cancel the room before 3pm the day of your stay with no penalty fee. If you are thinking of staying, I would call them ASAP and reserve a room!

HahAah. If the weather is right, I'll play beach bum and sleep on the sand. No work that Sunday for me ! We have to get all the cars lined up somewhere and take some pics. There is a good viewpoint along 26, that may be one of a few good places.

Almost all 23 weather sources are saying RAIN Friday and Saturday. They usually all say something different.

Slayer , I completely agree. I'm very disappointed with this summer. Its the weakest summer I've ever seen. Glad you're coming Ty.

How about the Kohls parking lot by the Sonic? More open and places to park. I'm making the drive to Cannon and then into Seaside/Gearhart. Maybe even to Astoria to check out the Goonies house :cheers: There are several great places to eat at both beaches. Figured we can eat lunch/dinner somewhere. I may even grab breakfast at the Camp 18 Restaurant on the way there. Great food!

Kohls sounds good , a no door bashing area. Those GoPros aren't cheap. Would be nice if someone has one or two.

Expect the coast to be crowded. It's the Regatta Festival this weekend in Astoria and Beach Volleyball tournement in Seaside. I'll be working Saturday, hope you all have fun.
