A buddy of mine lined up with a Cobra this weekend, guy just wanted to see where he was at.

Camaro made 458rwhp.

It's got some weight out. Nothing crazy though, still 3xxx without driver. The weight definitely plays a role though.

high gears like that on a roots/twin screw car and street tires usually equals fail.

With that setup I bet those dyno numbers are really closer to 500 too, even with the stalled A4.

458/397 sounds like h/c/i ls1 numbers. even through a stalled auto. granted, it would never happen with a cam that small and i know the tq curve on that ls3 motor is much better.

Once i saw the cobra's mods with the 4.10's i was actually looking at the ground behind the cobra to see if he was going to lay down some tire. You can barely see it but he did. Cammed or full bolt ons gears, good idea. Supercharged, street tires and torque everywhere bad idea, lol. Is he in his powerband long enough with the short gearing?.

I remembered, street tires ofcourse i would only be able to keep up with my friends G37 on the street 0-60mph with the 4.10's. As soon as i got to my top end and got there quickly i had to shift. With 3.42's i was able to pull on him a bit better, but tires would've gone a long way for me. Once i installed my NT05'r it had a ton of traction from an N/A motor. Even after the tires with traction i was not in my powerband long enough in 1st or 2nd to pull very hard. I can only imagine this cobra, lol.

I think the car is lighter than stated. That Camaro is a beast and knew what was going to happen. 10 sec car vs high 11 sec car if has a good driver.

That night we came out to Union for him and Antwat to race they all jumped on a scale, weren't you there? Brendon (that LS3) went on, and so did Antwat believe it or not. Brendon is heavier than Anthony. As a matter of fact, Samsel and Brendon are probably about the same weight now. Down into the 30xx's.

I've raced many P/I/E 03/04's with my old setup that definitely lived up to the hype. The race in the video looked like that car needed a driver mod, or was spinning hard, one or the other. With that said, that LS3 should still be roughly 40-50whp stronger and its lighter so it should have won the race either way.

He bought everything for a kit, minus the plate, even had the lines ran but didn't want to risk his new motor this early in the year so he's putting the spray off. It'll be going on eventually, and you'll know when it does. :D (Hoping I can get him to spray the house down.)

You can hear it for a split second, just didn't whine super loud for the camera though...I can 100% verify it has a blower though, so let's not try to start that...

Looked like a 99 cobra to me... No way an 03/04 Terminator (named for KILLING Ls vehicles AND put them out of production cause the fbody couldnt keep up) got outran by a camaro, no way.

I love Cobras and wouldn't mind having one... There aren't many cars I would take over my Trans am though.
And if I was looking at something like a Cobra, the C5Z would come out on top.

Similar price.. takes 60rwhp less to do the same thing.. Takes a blower swap to outrun a properly setup heads cam car in most cases.. worse mpg.. Gets left in the turns.. Harder to hook because of stupid low torque.

Only upside in my eyes with the cobra is rear seats and blower whine.. Which in a toy care nothing for.

The dent was'nt big enough to hurt it. The tune is probably what did it.
