So I'm off work tomorrow and I have planned to finally pull the trigger on the CETA mod for my WS6. I am planning on using Plasti-Dip so that I can remove it at anytime if need be.
So with all that being said the point of this thread is to ask for advice from anyone who has done this and have a few pointers before I start. I assume I will just need Semi-Gloss black, newspapers, and tape.... then a lot of time. haha

I sanded mine with some really fine grit, then primed painted, did not clear it for the flat look. Since youre using plasti dip just make sure the surface is clean, wax and grease free, mask it of and paint it. If you dont like it peel it off. Best of luck

Most of it will be prep, as long as its clean and taped off painting it should be easy.

Very good point about the sand marks.... If i just wipe the prep area down with Rubbing Alochol do you think that will be a good medium between sanding and waxing? or should I postpone and wax before i paint the CETA mod?

In the middle of coat #1 and waiting before I apply coat#2.... The Plasti-Dip looks almost flat black, Should I clear coat on top of it? I'm worried if i do that then i wont be able to remove it if need be.... Witch was the point of using plasti dip. Anyone know if I can or not?

do 4 coats or 3 and then if you wanna do something paint over the plastidip , i think it will looks good satin/flat . But you can paint over it . Also when i do my 4th coat just after i sprayed it i pulled the tape . I had a friend that waited and it pulled some dip .

I stoped at 3 coats... The tape was stuck to the Plasti a slight bit so i just gently ran a razor along the line to seprate the two and It worked like magic! There is one spot in the left corner where the plasti got me :( but other than that it looks awesome I'm working on getting my pics uploaded for everyone.

Thanks, I really am happy on how it turned out. I am a little surprised at how much it accents the rear end. I guess its because ive never seen the CETA on any TA here in town (or in person) but dang I looks good on our cars! haha
Touche' RAMAIRETRANSAM, on the flat black comment. I like it flat.

Ya know its ironic that you would say that, I figured going into it all that this would take me 1 1/2 hours-2 hours max....... Well I couldn't have been anymore wrong. lol It took a total of 4 hours from the begining of prep, all the way until I was cleaned up.
Not sure if im just REALLY slow, or if I was trying to make it perfect but at the end of the day I love the new look! =D

Yeah I just lightly sanded after taping off the area, and then did 1 coat black primer, 3 coats of flat black and called it a day. It still looks fine 3 years later. :)
