Damn man, thats a tall order here in town. I know of a few members on here but not that have rebuilt a T56 that I know of. Heck I dont even know anyone I used to run with around town when TFCC was alive that rebuilt T56's, most everyone has a shop do it or send it out as a core after ordering a built one.

Good luck

Call Wayne at OK transmissions. I dont believe he does them but he can point you in the right direction of who can. He's a real good guy and I have done a lot of business with him.

When you talk to anyone about it just make sure to remind them that it is a regular t-56 by tremec or borg. Most people get scared and think they all came with the ZF tranny that the vettes used back in the 90's. No one will touch those but a t-56 is pretty common and easy.

Oh really, have you heard anything about the work they do tranny wise? When I had my rear rebuilt I went to Transmissions, Axles & Transfers I believe on north Lewis.

I'm goin auto this winter. I'm done messing with this 6-speed crap, its giving me headaches.

Lester's has been around forever. Depending on who you talk to they are great or they are crooks. I have only bought parts from them and never had a problem.

OP I know you were just looking for some help, not a shop. I have a factory service manual for a 96 f body if you think it would help. I'll have to look tonight if it has rebuild procedures for the t56. I know it has it for the 4l60e.

If you are interested, I could make you copies.

I had Lesters do a stock rebuild on the t56 in my ws6, It worked nicely. All they are doing to this one is replacing the Tailshaft bushing.

There is black ws6 over there that has dumped exhaust. I see it with speedlines sometimes and then slicks other times. For some reason I was thinking you used to have an avatar pic that looked pretty similar too it.

He drives a Red Z28 now, used to be a white WS6 back in the day.

That black one you see around that area might be Smok'nZ, he posted earlier in this thread. That car was under the knife for a while & is actually where I got my replacement top AC hard line & compressor from when he pulled it.

I'm over in that area every Friday around noon. I cash my check there at the F&M bank on sheridan.
