Generation IV Internal Engine - Who makes a 4032 piston for a 4.185 bore?

Beginning to make my parts list for my 454 setup. I like the ERL 454 dry sleeved short block, but I do not care for the pistons they are using. I was hoping Mahle made a 4032 piston in the size that I need, but I did not see one. Does anyone else make one in that diameter? Thanks!

Pick up the phone. They'll make you whatever you want.

Haha, I don't want custom, custom = $$$!!

What about using GM's LSX 454 pistons and rods, and a Manley 4.125" crank in an ERL sleeved block?

just go ahead and spend the money and get the custom pistons that you want you are already spending big money on the motor so a little bit more to get exactly what you want wont hurt anything

The voice of reason  I called Wiseco today and asked if they made a 4032 piston, and they said all of their LSX offerings are 2618. Waiting to hear back from Mahle, and I'm working with Sean at ERL. You are right though, this is it for me. Do it once, do it right. Even though this is round two, since the 454 will be replacing a 382 :D

We have never had an issue with a Wiseco piston and with a 4.250 stroke.. Its the builder thats makes the difference

No problems with the wisecos on a 4.25 stroke with a 9.240 deck or 9.8 deck?
Where you at in NH?

No one has one on the shelf for a 454 but Wiseco will make one in 4032 if you have to have it. It will be a custom though.

I don't absolutely need it, but from what I understand a 4032 piston will last longer/wear slower than a 2618 piston. I'm not running a blower, a turbo or using nitrous, and I want an engine that will last as long as possible.

Idk about last longer... It depends on the use I suppose. The 4032 will let you run a tighter p-b clearance than a 2618, but consider wisecos latest offerings before buying.
They only want .001-.0015 more than the 4032 stuff

I don't think you will have an issue running one of their 2618 pistons. I'm not an engine builder but there are guys here with many miles on their engines running 2618 pistons

Lunati, Diamond and SRP all make 4032 pistons but I'm not sure if they have them in the diameter you're looking for. Not familiar with the ERL 454 Dry Sleeve set-up. Is that a 4.125" diameter?
