ok so i am thinking about either rebuilding my ls1 but putting bigger heads and cam in it or should i just go with ls3?

I built a ls1 earlier this year, total cost about $1700 (price of bad ls1 included in price) and it made 331 to the wheels. LS3 obviously give more potential for max hp. If you can afford the ls3, go for it.

Yeah turn key ls3 is 8k thats the problem lol

TXSZ.....Where all did you get your parts and did you hone it and get it balanced or do it all yourself? all of that in the 1700?

Lq9 with an l92 top end.. Cam only you will be close to 500Rwhp with bolt ons.. Much much cheaper than an ls3 swap, Very similar results.

Built the engine myself, only thing the machine shop did was install cam bearing and surface the 243 heads.

You should probably start out with a budget and see which build will fit that budget.

This week I ordered the first parts to build a LS3, going to be way cheaper that 8k

Id like to go cheapest looking for 400-450 rwhp. Did you have a lift for the car or just jacks to remove the motor?

Where at? That was just for turn key ls3

how easy is the swap?

Swap your accessories/etc... The blocks are nearly identical so you are basically swapping in another ls1.
