230/230 111+2 vs. 230/234 113+3... have questions.
So right now I've got a C5Z, I've recently done a H/C swap. I'm kinda over the choppy idle of the 111LSA. Im thinking of possibly switching to a 230/234 113+3. 2 major questions. Here's the link to my combo and dyno graph...
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...43-s-here.html
1. What will this do to my power band/hp & tq #'s, in comparison to what it is now?
2. This cam has less overlap but 4* more on the exhaust side. Will this lessen my P to V clearance even more?
Let's hear it fellas....

Since intake is the same but different LSA, there will be more room on intake.
On exhaust although 234 is bigger than 230 but LSA is wider I would say you'll have similar clearance, perhaps a bit more.

So are you saying by switching to this cam I will make LESS power and the power band will be shifted further up? Can you give me your educated guess as to power #'s and how far the powerband will shift?
I like the tq of my current cam. I was just wanting maybe a tad more top end (Keeping peak at 6,500) and pull clean to 6,800. And drive nicer with the 113LSA. Maybe I'm on the wrong path here, what would you suggest?
I know about cams, but I just don't KNOW about cams. Lol thanks for your help pred...

462rwhp and 434 rwtq is not enough for you? Go FI
You are allready in big cube territory and I know from my car that it is more than enough to bark tires in 3rd gear. Below that forget traction, what is the point?

I totally agree with Predator-Z. You are making awesome HP and even better TQ. I envy your setup. Ported 243 heads, a good sized cam that isn't some ******* donkey dick that is useless at **** down low, I mean, what could be better than the setup you have? When I saw your thread in the Dyno section, I had to read over it several times because I thought I was missing something. Ported 243 heads, 230/230 cam and the stock LS6 intake and TB. Most guys would kill for those numbers.

so you guys saying i should just stfu and deal with the idle? lol the only reason i made this thread is because i was wanting to go with a little smoother cam and figured maybe i should make minor tweaks to it... maybe ill just have my tuner turn the idle up some to smooth it out?
thanks for putting me in check guys. i know im making good power. was just wanting to possibly switch it up. if its not suggested then so be it!
i am wanting to gasket match my intake and get a ported throttle body though, is it worth the time/money?
thanks again guys...

cam??
That cam sounds great to me, maybe I am too old school, if my cams don't have some chop, they get replaced, plain simple......I will not drive any hotrod that sounds like my grandmothers car, I don't care what horsepower it has

I think he doesn't like all the chop the idle has. I'm sure it sounds pretty rough. I, like other have said, prefer a very rough/choppy idle, but to each his own. What is your idle speed set at now? Before changing out cams, I would talk to your tuner and see if he can fix the idle sound by bumping the idle speed up. If not, hey, it's your car and if you want to change out cams, then by all means do so. I think the 230/234 113 LSA cam would do well with your combo.
