I painted mine with VHT, and I'm not that happy with the light output. So, I'm going to sand them down and try using a tint film.

But, if I was going to choose between covers and painting my tail lights. I would use paint. I had covers on my old camaro, and didn't really like them. But, being able to take them off in a few seconds was convenient. Other then that, I like the VHT more.

VHT looks like **** IMO. Plastic covers dont look the best either, the best look is done with nice quality paint materials.

Since it's not an option, I would say neither. I prefer the non altered look of the tail lights because personally, I got tired of them to quick and I got hassled by cops about them. In the end, it's your car so do with it what you want but I'm just giving my $0.02.

I completely disagree with you. I can't tell the difference between my tail lights and some that have been done by a professional. It's just that most people just spray them, and call it good.

I will agree with you that they're too dark. I will be correcting that soon.

yup i'm with black on this one i do not have as good or close pic as he does but you can clearly see the smooth reflection in my vht'd taillights like he said most don't take the time to "clean" them back up.

i used to ran tail light covers till i was caught in a down pure on a highway. shortly after pulling into a rest stop the guy who i didn't know was behind me said he couldn't see me at all. caught in the vortex of water spray coming off the other vehicles on the highway he could only see the very small brake light on the rear hatch when he ran up close enough to bump draft. they wasn't mad at all, just concerned for safety for me and others on the road. i only use covers if i'm in a car cruise and car shows

they do look sexy though! i say covers, that way you can take them off if need... i scrapped off the white letters

Myself i prefer covers. The ease of removal without the pain of painting it just right. I agree alot look AMAZING and i will be using spray for my front turn signals, the plastic covers work just good for me

And with the lights on (not brakes)

I still plan on going with vht red on my lt1 grid tails. I'm going to try it on my spare light and if I don't like it then oh well.
