Hey guys,

Both my driver and passenger door sag.
So when you shut the door you hear the door hitting the bottom frame I'd say 75% of the time.

Does anyone have part numbers or know exactly what causes this to happen?
These damn doors are just too long XD

I believe it is the fiberglass on the doors in the hinge areas that are weak and they begin to flex because of the weight of the door, which in turn causes the doors to sag.

My doors aren't sagging yet, but I know that it is not a fun or simple thing to fix properly. Something along the lines of removing the door, taking it apart, then glassing it on the inside to strengthen it needs to be done.

Pins and bushings

This^^

Unless the door is damaged its a hinge & pin replacement & adjusting the door. If the door is damaged then you get into the reglassing it & what not.

How hard is it to just replace the pins and bushings?

very easy job but you will need a helping hand to hold the door on the jack and to help get everything lined back up

I did see on Rock Auto they have a Door Hinge Pin & Bushing Kit for like 10 bucks.
Maybe I'll order that and try it. If it works well on one door i'll do the other :)

minor necro'ing, but i'm having a similar problem. my lower door pin is shot and causing trouble when opening/closing door. I can't for the life of me figure out where the hinge and bushing kit is on rock auto. I know it's there somewhere just can't track it down.

anybody have a link for it? or a step by step for the directory for it on the site? Google gives me a link for it with "Door hinge pin and bushing kit" highlighted, but clicking on it just goes to the top menu for firebirds.

The upper hinges are only serviceable, the lowers are not.

Crap, I might have to buy a whole new lower hinge then. Like I said before I'm having a door pin problem that's not allowing the door to open close easily/quietly. Here is a picture of my issue:

You can see that the bottom door pin where the hinge part that holds the door open at certain angles is no longer round. not really sure how it happened though. Looks like it somehow chipped off.

Just Buy a whole new door with the same paint :) I bought a 95 trans am door for my red 02 T/A fits and paint matches like a champ+ all the internals work flawlessly. Although shipping is more than the door -_-

I thought my sagging doors were bad, there was another trans am (POS) at a meet I went to and he literally had to try to shut the door 4 or 5 times before it would shut right.

I would say compared to his, mine are like new LOL

You dont need a whole hinge to fix that. i just replaced the pin and detent roller on my car. It had grooves worn in it that caused the door to click and pop when opening and closing. if the door is sagging then maybe but the pin and roller are replaceable on the lower hinge. i got the parts for $9.22 plus shipping from partstaxi.

I found the part numbers on here somewhere, search roller detent.

EDIT: found them...

Did you have to take the door off to fix this or just take the lower hinge bolts off. What was your method ?
