Default 245/50/16 or 235/60/16

Looks like 245 would be the best width for the regular T/A rims, but I'm lookiing at tires right now and there is a much bigger selection is the 235 width. What do you guys think? I have 245's and 255's on there now, but having a tough time finding out the recommended size.

Any word on the kumho ecsta asx or general altimax hp? Both priced at about 105 per tire.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Justin

Why are you having a "tough time finding out the recommended size" when you already have the stock sized tires on your car? 245-50-16 is the size tire your car rolled off the assembly line with.

Well that's the thing. I bought the car with 255/50 and 245/55's on it. And most tire places list different sizes.

Actually I believe that some cars came with 235's but I could be mistaken.

But, OP, the 245's are the typical standard size people run staying stock. If you need to replace your tires just get 245's all around, they're cheap enough with a great selection

I have some kumhos that were like 450 for all four that seem to be doing pretty well in a 245/50. Great in the rain.

The right size in a 235 is 235/55. 60 is too tall.

I've tried the Altimax HP. It has very soft sidewalls so it's great for comfort, not so good for corner carving. Quiet and good in the rain - haven't run them in snow.

These are the sizes you can run.
235/50/16
245/50/16
255/50/16

I would run 255/50/16 on all corners. =]
