Gen 5 Camaro External Bolt-On Tech - 2012 Turbo V6 Camaro from factory?

Hi guys,

The other day I helped a friend check out a built 306 sn95 stang and the guy claimed to have just purchased a 2012 V6 turbocharged Camaro with the option code "ROS". He went to the dealership and demanded that he was going to buy this car (they did not know that it existed). Side note: he also said he doesn't race anyone in his stang because he "knows he's faster".. As another buddy (delivered) was standing there with a 600rwhp procharged z06 and my not as impressive, but still decent, bolt on m6 LS1 SS. We just kind of looked at each other. :huh:. I snapped some pics - I'm liable to believe that the dealer cut out some "ROS" stickers to put on the car and sold it to him. He also said you can't see the turbos because there's so much plastic shrouding. Now I'll tell you what, I've met some mustang guys that tell stories, but this guy might have topped them all. Legit or not legit?

I'm sure you can't see the turbos, but I bet you can see the intake lead from a filter to the throttle body and the exhaust head back to the tips.

Reminds me of high school when this kid claimed his dad's Cadillac Allante Pinafarina was supercharged. He popped the hood and after looking at the obviously stock engine, I asked him where the supercharger was. He pointed at the alternator and said 'that's it right there'. All I could do was laugh..

Think I just lost some brain cells reading this post. There is no turbo V6 from the factory and probably won't be at least for quite a long time. However compared to SN95 Mustangs, the V6 Camaro is probably seems if not is faster stock.

While the V6 camaros are certainly a fairly formidable low-displacement DD, there was definitely no turbo package made...

I'm thinking the ROS was part of the dealer sticker. Like Rosenberg, just minus a couple letters... Lol
