Might be that the throttle is opening too far - can you log TPS voltage? It can't go over 4.8V at WOT... Is there any chance the throttle body throttle stop is bent or something allowing it to open farther than it should? is it a stock throttle body?

No, I don't have a way to log or check, just got an app on my phone and it shows throttle %

It has an MTI TB on it.

Don't know anything about that TB, but if you open it all the way, is there a stop? if it is able to be bent to keep it from opening so far, that may do it... possible it is just a bad TPS sensor too...

Does have a stop, and TPS is new...oh well, guess I better get a scanner that will read voltage

Is the stop like a stock TB where it could simply be bent to keep it from opening so far? Just thinking if you are at the track, that would be a simple fix to get you running again...

Only thing I notice is there is only one cable on it instead of 2 like my friends stocked. It has a place for the "outside" cable, but no cable. Are both for the throttle or is one for something else

Another thing you might be able to do - to keep from changing the idle setting - is to put some tape around the stop area (arrow) to keep it from opening as far... of course this is a temporary fix while you are at the track tonight...

Does it have a setscrew on the wide open stop? Can't really tell in the picture, but it looks like it might...

No, It didn't have an adjustment for WOT, just idle.

I borrowed a stock TB to put on the car that night at the track and it ran fine and gave no codes, even picked up quite a bit.

I bought a used TB and put it on last night, but it's idling a little high. Gotta figure that one out now. I really appreciate your help the other night.
