i have the ms3, and it makes awesome power about 3300+ RPM.

VRX5 and it's just slightly smaller than the MS3 and make power from 2100-6800. Another option to consider. Great cam for our cars.

MS3 has been proven time and time again, and down the road if you decide to it loves the bottle.

Both are great choices with the Torquer V3 being more tame with better midrange and low end power than the MS3. The MS3 is an awesome choice, but is definitely considered a max effort cam, and needs the supporting mods to perform to its potential. Makes great peak power and pulls like a freight train, but sacrifices the power down low to do it. If max effort is what your looking for with a super aggressive idle the MS3 will no doubt get the job done.

If your dead set on those 2 Cams I would say ms3 if your gonna beat it like a red headed step child.
Honesty though I would say have one Custom spec'd its the same price and dealing with Pat.G was awesome. His cams have exceded all my expectations and goals. Needless to say no more off the shelf cams for me
Btw here's his website:

I have the Torquer v3 from Texas Speed in my 2004 V LS6 and love it so far, have yet to get it on the Dyno but hopefully will in the next two weeks. It may be milder than most but it's still a beast IMO.

Whats the rest of that conversation??? That does no good I can take a screen shot asking what about those 2 cams and what he think of them. If you wanna play screen shots I can send you all my emails asking stuff because that proves nothing.
I've had him spec me out 2 recently and both were goal's to make 500 rwhp. The off the shelf ms4, tsunami, megadeath couldn't do it I already tried. All I changed were the cams and both cars made 500,and you could daily both. I'm not saying off the shelfs are bad but if you want every ounce of power out of your setup then custom is the way to go.

Did you pay him to custom spec you a cam, or did you just ask him for his advice? This email response looks like you just shot him an email and he replied because he's a gentleman.

Yeah, I probably should not have posted that. No doubt Patrick is a good man and definitely knows his shit. That's why I recommended him to this person who gave him all the specs of his car. I wasn't trying to say that his advice was bad by any means. I'm just saying that your advice to have a 'custom spec' cam isn't always the best route. Even Patrick recommends 'off the shelf' cams for certain applications. Even he isn't a fortune teller and can't tell you if another cam is going to make 2.7 more rwHp. There are just too many variables.
But, I am wondering....Nevermind. Lol
To the op - I installed Radeon's MS3 cam along with TSP heads. It pulled really hard just as he stated. I had a cam in my old LS2 that was more of a low end torque cam. His car was no less fun to drive and absolutely daily drivable.

I have the MS3. Car runs great for my dd. Still gets 26 mph hwy. Power hits hard at 3000 rpms, and doesnt run out of breath. It loves to be in higher rpms. In order for it to have good street manners, u must have a good tuner tune it. Tuning it for wot is obviously easy.

With the MS3 you can go up to 26 MPH on the freeway? Damn, that's fast!

Assuming he meant mpg - at what speed? No way a cammed V is doing 26mpg at 75mph+ Maybe at 55-60.

Timing at cruise and a/f? In the very high 30s and 15.5 - 23mpg is a perfectly straight/flat road for 3 hours. Cats?
Hell my wrx barely does 26mpg at 75mph.

I also got 26 mpg in the highway in my cammed LS2. Your tuner needs to adjust the DFCO settings and play with timing in the cruise area. My timing was in the low 30's and I didn't lean the crap out of it, but I had a different cam.

At steady cruise you aren't touching dfco.

Right, so I guess you'll have to find some hills to get better fuel mileage. Once I changed any air or fuel numbers the dic was off and mpg has to be calculated manually.

Well back to the OPs question. I will hopefully have dyno numbers this week with the the v3 with and without my cats.

My only advise for a cam... Is think abotu how big of a cam you need/want. And go a little bigger.
I went with a 226/230 specd cam from Pat G. And I love it. But wish it was a LITTLE bigger sometimes.
What I LOVE about this cam is there is NO loss of power in the mid to low ranges and a 30hp gain up top. I can post the dyno if you want.

My cam specs are 236/238 .601/.605 on 113. I love it and power still hits fairly low. It's aggressive at idle and loves the nitrous. At times I wish it was bigger but any bigger and it would move my powerband up to 3k plus so anywhere other than full throttle, it wouldn't be very useful. I like that it hits at 2100 and still pulls to 6800.

I think both you guys have great cams, when you have a big cam you sometimes wish it was smaller lol, i know i wish i would have went with a high 230s cam,i love the ms4 but the only reason i got it was because i got the whole kit brand new for 400, couldnt pass on it so thats what im sticking with, the only thing is the cam is only good as the supporting mods

MS4 is monster!! Are u still on stock heads?
I seriously considered that cam but piston to valve clearance would have been an issue and it's a 3600+ power range cam. It's a dyno queen for sure though and puts down big numbers!! I'd imagine it would be a pretty tough cam to daily though. How do u like it for drivability?
MS3 was the better choice of the two u listed IMO so good move. You'll love it.

MS4 will clear stock heads/pistons but barely. I spoke with TSP and they said to check to be sure but it will clear. And with a good tuner MS4 would be fine to daily. Other then trying to idle through parking lots in first gear at 5mph the cam in my mustang 234/246 drove like the cadillac and still made great tq.

I was told it was going to be dangerously close with stock heads. A little valve float and you'd smack a piston. How true that is im not 100% but thats what i was told. Just a little too close for my comfort. On the plus side, it chops/thumps hard and sounds ridiculous at idle and pulls like a freight train up top. The powerband for me just wouldn't have hit early enough. These cars are heavy and being a daily driver, I wanted something that would pull from lower in the rpm range. The MS4 is a dyno queen though and my absolute favorite for the sound at idle. It's a beasty stick!

Lol, whenever I have to merge into traffic or get somewhere fast i usually dont lug it around at 2k rpms anyways.
You think the MS3 doesnt have anything under 3k, drive a turbo car with 8.5:1 compression and a bigger turbo lol.

I know what u mean. My syclone is a slug until the snail starts to spool. It's worse than my caddy with the ms3. Lol
