Default High volume high pressure oil pump?

How important is it to have a high volume oil pump for a LQ9 6.0 bracket/ street S10?

About as important as having the windshield washer tank full. Standard volume pump with a slightly higher pressure relief (shim or replace the plunger spring) is what you want, assuming the main/rod bearing clearances are within specs.

The extra volume accomplishes nothing but sapping engine power.

Yes and with a high volume pump You also run the risk of You're oil pump sucking air if You're taking a corner in a lower gear with engine rpm's up a little

Oiling is not one piece it is the whole system. The pickup tube and install of the pump making sure the o ring is correct.

If you are making power and rpm you should step up the oiling.

Ask guys doing the Texas mine or road course about what kind of oil system mods they have had to do to make it live
