Default Oil pressure problem

I was cruising to the track about two weeks ago and caught out of the corner of my eye my oil pressure dropping so I went to pull over and shut it off and it went back up. It fluctuated from 60-30 all the way to the track, Got back home and ordered a mechanical gauge, Does the same thing after its warmed up. But I could get a better idea of what it was doing with the mechanical gauge, while cruising the pressure stays at 50psi and when you accelerate any at all the pressure will drop. And in park if you slowly increase the rpm to right around 3800 it will start dropping. Made me think it was the pickup, so I dropped the pan this weekend and I cant find anything wrong. The pickup and pump all looked fine. Does anybody have any other idea of what it could be? And also, I ran this exact same setup all last year with no problems, it just all of a sudden started doing it.

I thought about that, but its the exact same setup as last year and I didnt have any problems until two weeks ago. Do you think maybe a drainage hole in the oil valley could have got plugged?

Im thinking more of a collapsed oil filter. I've had this happen to me on the nova. Idle pressure was normal but anything above about 2k rpm oil pressure would drop.

Might want to try a new oil filter. Cheap and easy fix if that's what it is...

I forgot to mention that I did change the oil filter and oil the day after and it did the same thing.
