I made this computer generated clip, of my T/A Vs a 240zx rb20 or something like that. 22lbs built turbo engine. I was told it made 360 whp and 380 Tq, with weight reduction.


We ran three times, and all three 30 rolls... The first two, i pulled away with no problem. Manual shifting from 1st 2nd and Drive.
The last run i launched from 2nd gear, to make it a lil more even. but my TA doesnt like 30 rolls from 2nd.

Either way, good runs. The guy is a great sport and was a lil surprise to see this small cam T/A in action.

Theres no point to hit 3rd... Im gone after 2nd is finished. So might aswell put it in drive and produce less stress on the trans. Make sence? to each his own. This works for me and aint going to change.

This is no ricer turbo car, it has taken a few rides down from higher rolls. 380 tq is exactly what he dynoed. Dont let it hurt that other cars make more Tq than our Lsx series rides. Good Tq # is not always there with our basics set ups.

Thats true, but I have lots of practice in my ride already. I can tell just by engine sound when its time to shift, but do pay attention to the rpm's.
rev limiter is at 6700, and thats where my power curve starts to drop... Shiftpoints are not in the right spot, shifts at 6400 if not done manually. But thats a whole other story, for now lets just concentrate on the Race.

Fully built k24 on a 100 shot and guted, some black boosted honda, I dont remember exacly the #'s but they were high 300's, and some green boosted honda making 450hp gutted out. oh and one respectable sti wrx, It was a close race. I only lost by a car. I have race a shit load of turboed imports and I'm never impressed. When I have ask them what kind of number did they make the trq was always low. For the record some import motors actually make torque, some more torque than hp naturally. My mazdaspeed protege on the stock weak ass turbo made 245whp and 263trq. Stock it made 157whp and 161trq. And is your mod list correct? With just a cam youre making 398whp?

All this talk about import this and import that. Imports DO NOT make the tq that the V8's do. Due to the tq V8's put down, they usually will get the jump on imports. Most often in this case, you would have to reel in a V8 up top. From this video, the Nissan was probably at the same power level, but because of the tq from the T/A, he couldn't make up that distance. That's why the T/A kept pulling. Tq and power are never close on boosted 4cylinders. It will never happen. Back on topic...Nice kill.!!!

05 supercharged v6 put down 360 and 375 ish tq i believe with a supercharger h/c not sure on all the specs for it walked off and left my buddies 450 hp integra from a dig but from a 60 roll the integra walked off and left him like he was sitting still and was spinning at 60 on radials

that k24 on motor would give you a good run.

Friends ran 7.5s in the 1/8th on muscle in a full interior coupe with a/c and power windows and sunroof.

Before he ran 7.5 he used to drag bolt on srt4's from a roll, in his bolt on k20.

k-series cars don't need to be built to make over 300 on nitrous, friends stock k20z1 made 360 on a 125 shot direct port.

Was most likely a stock long block on spray.

I dont remember saying my car was fast, I know my car is slow. The hot cam #'s are right, I just left off that its in a 6.0 not a 5.7. Yeah I'm going to waste my time educating myself on imports so when I run into that 1 in 650000 I will know exactly what I ran. Yes I know there are some imports that are proprely set up that can and do run hard but 98% of them are bullshit set ups that are not worth it.

Here is another old video of the bullshit setups I'm talking about. I talk to the owner and he told me it was a fully built. What I say about the cars mods is what the car owners tell me, I dont hype it up to make my car look fast. I dont remember his #'s. I went back 3 weeks in a row to get a rematch on his new set up at 700hp but I never saw him again. You are right, If i was doing a dig or extremely low roll, i just leave in Drive... anything higher, i always manual shift. My stall is awesome from 50-60 rolls, once 3rd is in the power band, its game over... the built trans is really paying off.

Maybe its my tune or just my 120k mile transmission but if I try to manually shift... 1st=> 2nd works fine. 2nd => D lags really bad then drops into gear. Ive tried manually shifting it at the track and no matter what I do I run .3-.4 slower than just launching in D and letting it reel.

FI makes torque on any cylinder car. It just makes more on higher displacement cars. I'm not surprised to see a 4cyl make 300+wtq at all. My bimmer with a straight 6 3.0l makes great usable torque. The average bolt on tuned car can make around 400whp 450wtq pretty easily. My TA makes about 622wtq with an unlocked converter. There is a reason I only drive turbo cars now. I'm addicted to that torque delivery and prefer quick spooling setups that large laggy turbo's

I've never had a similarly powered V8 jump out on me during a roll race. Then again, I've always brake boosted the shit out of my car, even on the stock turbo.

If torque and horsepower are close on a boosted car, you have a few things that could be going on. 1) You're not revving that high, 2) Too small of a turbo that can't maintain boost at high rpm's, 3) the VE isn't great on the motor (IE: SRT-4s with stock heads)

On stock turbo I made 366whp & 410 wtq. However this torque was just a spike, consistent with boost. I made the 410wtq @ 4000 rpms and spiking 30psi. My peak HP came in at 7400rpms where boost had dropped to 22psi.

I was expecting much more out of this nissan Z... But i would just go from first to second gear (Manual Shifting) and let off. Was just not worth going any further.

I'm affraid Neal's car is going to be down for a while. Along with fixing the blown head gasket, he's tossing on a SP quick-spool valve, larger manifold and a bigger turbo. Said expecting minimum of 800whp and 700+ wheel torque with the new set-up. And the torque will be coming on much sooner in the rpm range. He just takes his sweetass time working on his business.
My car is going back to FMS and being put on the dyno here in a few days to figure what the hell it's problem is. It's being a stubborn bitch. But I'll be in for Aug 5th :)

Sup guys... Im actually considering going twin turbo myself or 150 wet shot. Spray is alot cheaper and would b right around a twin t set up HP wise. But the sound of turbos is bad ass.
