Stereo & Electronics - Running light gremlins

I've seen this happen to a buddies car, but today I noticed my 2001 camaro is giving me some issues when the running lights are on and/or I try to use my left turn signal. When the running lights are activated in the daylight only the passenger side will light up. However when I go to switch the running/headlights and fog lights on manually everything will light up just fine. With the left turn signal, it will light up but not blink. I know the f-bodys are plagued with electrical issues, but what is the cause and easiest way to fix this?

If I understand the situation... your left daytime running light and turn signal doesn't work but the parking lights work. You are aware that those are two separate filaments in the bulb (bright filament for DRLs and signals and dim filament for parking lights)? Each filament is independent and could burn out without affecting the other. This is not an electrical problem plaguing F-bodies... replacing the left side bulb should solve your problem.

You must have replaced the flasher with an electronic one otherwise the turn signals would go on solid (not blink at all) because of the missing front lamps.
Never buy common items like sockets from a dealer - they want way too much money. Google "3157 GM light socket" and you'll find that Amazon has the straight ones for $10.99 and the right-angle ones for $13.99.
Unless $120 is the price for both sides, find another dealer - they are gouging you with that price. The part number is 12159662, it retails for $80 and is available online for about half that.

No I didn't realize that. I was just confused that the affected running light would still light up when the fogs and headlights were turned on. But that makes sense, thanks for the tip.

Actually, one more question. I just noticed the turn signal in the rear of the car on the same side is affected by this as well, lights up but won't blink. Is this related to a burnt bulb in the front running light?
