General Maintenance & Repairs - Engine Knock/Tapping

Anybody got a clue what this could be? All the header blots are tight and I don't see any soot around the heads so I don't think it's a exhaust leak. I pulled the belt off and ran it to make sure it wasn't a pump, and the noise was still there. It is louder on the drivers side of the car, mainly above the #1 cylinder. I pulled that valve cover this past weekend and all the rockers, springs and pushrods looked fine from what I could tell.

Nvm, went to my tuner today. He listened with the stethoscope and is confident it's a lifter. Good thing I was already planning on replacing them when I swap my heads.

let us know if indeed its a lifter. there has been 2 people here in orlando, including myself that have been told this was the piston pins. a factory defect.
