Ran an N/A celica back when I was n/a and pulled about 87,000 buses on him.

Kid went and rebuilt his motor and car completely.

Rebuilt the bottom end, forged it, not sure if he stroked it, cam, meth, gt35 on 20psi. He claims he will be at 550whp, which I personally think is bullshit. I don't think he'll even break 450 and I doubt his torque will pass 400. Panama weather is a bitch on cars.

Anyway, you guys think I should be worried? I've been talking a lot of shit about dragging this guy and have $1,000 riding on this.

I will have my full suspension, 17" slicks/skinnies open headers (about -200lbs), my new 8 rib (no belt slip on maggie) and my smaller pulley which will push my boost to 10-11. I'll probably be knocking on 700rwhp and 650+ rwtq.

Should I worry? I really don't want to lose $1,000. I do have spray I can throw on the car but my bottom end isn't built yet. Stock bottom end and stock transmission. Pretty sure the bottom end and transmission will survive one giggle blast but I hear that shit is addictive.

I think you will win but to seal the deal put your pig on a diet...

Dig, you gotta be careful of spinning.
Roll, you gotta be less careful of spinning, and just take off.

I doubt he's going to be worth much. Its probably a high to mid 12 at best, and from a roll... you are going to kill him. I've only seen a tiny handfew of 12 second celicas. Doesn't mean they don't exist... just means they aren't easy to come by or build.

Roll or dig? You got tires on that SS?

Dig.

I have 28x10 slicks and skinnies 17" welds

and I have a 21" front,
17" weld mickey thompson back setup.

Think I will be using the slicks skinnies since its for money.

those celicas are pretty light but he's gonna need a lot more than 20 psi to come close. I wouldn't be scared.

2500lbs without driver.
I'll probably be 3700-3800lbs without driver.

I make full torque at 2.5k, he says he enters full boost at 2k (don't believe him).

That's bs he won't hit full boost that low of rpm. He is full of it. He probably break 400whp mark if that.

Full boost at 2k?

Full boost at 2k?

Yeah, that dude is full of it.

You should be fine.

EDIT: Typically you need to be more worried about the guys that actually mod their car step by step, all while configuring their setup to work in conjunction. The guys that throw a bunch of money in their cars, without actually dialing it in, usually have the shittiest running cars. JMO.

Is it an AWD celica? How much does one weigh? If its under 2800 with driver and awd i see you in trouble. Also if its a dual ball bearing gt35r depending the type of manifold/size motor i see it being possible. My friend had a dual ball bearing gt30r on his b16 that would get full boost at 3.5kish.

Nah not full boost. I'm not sayin the celica wont run (if he not bs-ing) it should if his car can hold the power and his setup is right plus all it takes is that split second him waiting for full boost Or lag to get his shit left behind.

FWD celica.

I'm on slicks skinnies remember and full suspension upgrades.. as in every single suspension part.. toe rods, trailing arms, bushings, sway bars, everything everything. So I will be able to launch the car pretty damn hard.

You'll rape him. It takes alot of work to get ANY fwd car too hook on the street, especially with that power lol. You got it in the bag IMO!

I agree 2k is a exaggerated, i can see it START to build boost there, but not full boost.

Well, just get your launching practice in... for a grand, I know I would.
Otherwise, You shouldn't have much of an issue. Your on tire. Long as you can put the power down, I don't see this as being much of a race, regardless of what he's done. I've seen 17psi Celicas push mid 13s.

Dude will be a high to mid 12 car... I don't see it being much of an issue assuming you can launch correctly. At a roll, I see him being breakfast.

Please do both and record. LOL
