Drag Racing Tech - THROTTLE position controller under dash ??? need some help

There is a box under the dash that says "throttle position controller" with 2 pliugs comming off it, im gutting my wireing and need to know if this stays or goes, my buddy said he took his off with no problems and said it was for the cruise control, LET ME KNOW

IT was my understanding that it was for the traction control and the throttle relaxer in a 4 channel car

I would also like to know what this is for. I've seen this question asked a few times but no real answers.
