Probably because SLP released back in March that they were going to be building a GN GNX car out of the current Regal GS. Maybe GM put the kibosh on that.

Id rather see them take the 2014 Chevy SS platform and make a GN or GNX out of it rather than the Regal...

I could see it being something to compete with the ecoboosted 3.5 ford is basically waving around. It should be interesting.
