Corvette Performance - What tire do you run at the track?

I'm trying to decide whether I should switch to an ET street bias ply or a Hoosier drag radial. What do you run and what's you HP level. These would be 17" tires.

I have always ran a bias ply et street on a 17x11 wheel! With my C5 (540 rwhp) and on my C6 that had 400rwhp before the turbo kit! Going to the track with them tomorrow now at 600 rwhp! I have always cut mid 1.5's with this setup!

Do you drive to the track on the ET streets?

Shouldn't you have a fast car before you start worrying about tires? :gay:

08 Corvette, 1.56 60' on 275-40-17 Hoosiers drag radials. Going to Mickey Thompson 265-40-18 on a stock front wheel next time out.

Drive to track 120 miles round trip.

Do you drive to the track on the ET streets?

Yes I do 22 psi till I get there then let them down to 17-18 for passes!

Running the same bias ply above, mid ten quarter mile, 6 speed, 1.47 sixty foot in my Z with 480 rwhp.

Running ET street\radial, 16" with automatic truck cutting 1.53 sixty, low-low 11's quarter mile with 450 rwhp

Plenty of tire.

Also, Hoosier DR hook good, maybe even better.

ive run d/r hoosier 16 inch 255x50 for 3yrs with hp change from 438rw to 540rw they still hook on my a-4 trans car have dropped weight on car also went from1.47 60ft down to 1.35 with juice a 100 shot hit a 1.344 60 ft ive seen the faster cars run hoosiers

Thanks for the input guys. I'm still trying to decide. I have decided to go with a bias ply front since they are lighter. I buddy has a 17" ET street I'm going to try next time out.

I run Hoosier 315-30-18s on my C5Z with 585hp

275 40 17 Nitto 555R on Corvette Magnesium fronts @ 18 psi

MT ET Street all day long:D

I have MT 305/35-18 DRs on 10.5 TSW wheels, best 60ft so far is a 1.46. These are the only tires I have.
