Default Brake Torque Management...

Not sure if all GTO's have this but it is very frustrating to not be able to heat the radials up in the burnout box at the track. It acts like traction control is "on" when its actually "off". I tried the zip tie method from doing a search and it kept slipping off the tab. Im ready to get rid of this issue for good. So, im considering super gluing the tab so it doesn't know when the brakes are being applied thus enabling me to power brake the car and get the tires hot enough to hook. Before i go with the super glue i wanted to ask the board for what you guys have done to get rid of this problem. Also, can it just be tuned out in the computer all together? I thought i read somewhere that it couldn't be but wasn't positive.

Sorry, i should have put that in the op that im not interested in the line-lock route. That would obviously take care of the problem though, im just looking for a bit more inexpensive permanent fix.

Also, after doing more reading looks like the cruise control would be lost as a result of the "zip tie" method. It seems to be most common in A4 06 models. Mine is an 04 A4 and haven't heard many 04 A4 guys complaining of this issue.

I tuned it out of my 06 with hp tuners. You may want to look over at the hp tuners forums to see if you are able to do the same with your 04

Try pulling the ABS fuse under the hood 60a on it . It was the only way i can get the t/c out when i race. I run at Norwalk . HP Tuners couldn't take all of it out either . Mine has run 11.78 at 116 and 1.67 60 foot on 225/45 /17 . All motor on stock untouched 241 heads . Only thing done to rear end is drag radials .

I also run at Norwalk. I don't think iv seen your car though. That is pretty strong for an all motor 04 A4. You should come out next wednesday night and make a few passes. I'll give the ABS fuse a try and post up if it works or not.

Torque management and TCS are two different systems. I have no idea what zip tie thing you are talking about though.

its common with build dates from oct 2005 forward....its the electronic brake control module...simple solution is to get a tune, it worked for me or if u have HP Tuners do it yourself....if u super glue the switch your cruise control will be in op
