Default 95 formula wont stay running.

I recently bought my formula and it had bad head gaskets, i took off the heads, got the car back together, and now i turn thr key, it fires up, but then immediately dies. i dont have the intake plugged on the end of the TB but all the vacuum lines, MAF sensors are hooked up but the sensor in the tubing closest to the TB. i have oil pressure, fuel, and fuel pump is in working order, any suggestions ?

when the head gaskets went bad maybe water got to the opti causing the issue ? or the water pump if your not sure about the history of it. if your sure your getting fuel then most likely its a opti issue or wires

i mean i plugged up all the vacuum lines, put down a decent amount of black rtv on front and rear of block for the intake. any way to tell about vacuum leak?would a bad throttle body gasket cause this? i just realized i never changed mine out when i put it back on there. i was under the car n looked at opti but can only do so much by myself in the dark, be easier today when i get home from work

While I agree a leak would make the car run like crap , I don't think it would make the car completely stall out after just starting it .

which side of the water pump is the exit? couldnt i unplug it and see if water is going through it ?i knoe for a fact i need to flush my coolant system as well. water pump worked well when head gaskets were bad haha the cars had no power so wouldnt think water on the vented opti should really matter, it reva to about 600 rpms and dies

You won't be able to tell if the opti is bad or not by looking at it

Does it miss fire when you try and keep the Rpms up ? Try and hook up the rest of the intake with the mass sensor also maybe that would help

it doesnt misfire, rpms drop n shuts off at around 600, just dies off , doesn't stutter n die

Do you have anyway to test fuel pressure to make sure the pump isn't failing ?
