I just wanted to know if I could just simply change my stock crank for 4" to make my LS2 into a 402?

I understand that getting a 402 stroker kit would be best but since my current engine is perfectly fine would it be a good idea to just switch? I'm trying to say save some money and any info would be extremely appreciated!

Unfortunately you can not do that. The stock pistons are not made for the 4" stroke crankshaft and will not setup correctly at all.

Damn, I was trying to say some cash but I guess there's no way... Thanks a lot for the info!

yea if you did that your pistons would it the heads! if you increase stroke you have to decrease the rod length or piston height

That is correct! Those pistons would have been sitting a good bit out of the hole on that one.

You need to lengthen the rods to clear the crank, and change the pistons to keep it where it should be in the bore.

You don't just simply swap your crank

This is why you ask in the forums... Is there another reason to? Anyways thanks for everyone's info
