Default beefing up the transmission

hello, i was looking to beef up my transmission because i wanted to be able to get a tune without my transmission blowing up in my face. i heard some good things about t.e.p. i was just wondering what specific things and parts should be put in to make sure i have a transmission that will hold up to a tune. thank you

Ure Trans will hold up if not better with a tune especially if they tunr both Trans and ecm. Also read up on transmission coolers and ensure you keep up with Trans fluid changes.

A lot of guys run tunes (ECM and TCM) with a stock tranny. TEP is the go-to place for our transmission. If you call Dave @ TEP, he will help you out with exactly which parts you need for your application.

from what i gathered before mine died, is the main issue with our transmissions is the torque converter clutch breaking up and sending parts throughout the transmission. its not really hp killing it, its just the converters solenoid not bleeding off pressure early enough. there is a fix for this, but you have to remove the valve body, but that's pretty involved to get it out.

Yes, what everyone else said. The trans does have some engineering defects that are covered in this tread. https://ls1tech.com/forums/ls4-perfo...e-project.html
( that thread should be a sticky)

It's sticky over on GMLS4.com!! I tried to get that done here, but we really don't have a mod anymore, now that AlabamaGuy is into Toyota 4x4s!

On-topic, call Dave over @ TEP and he will set you straight.
