Getting my car back tomorrow, sprayed Lamborghini Orange Pearl. Love this color! I'll post up more pics after I pick it up Monday or Tuesday.

Deletes:
- Pounded the PONTIAC out of the driver side headlight cover.
- Removed the trim off the door
- Removed TRANS AM from the door.
- Removed PONTIAC from the rear bumper, plastic weld fill, not bondo or filler.
- Black painted center tail light filler panel.
- Removed the power antenna.
- Removed WS6 badge.
- No decals.

Mods:
- WS-9 Hood
- CETA

This car is practically bone stock with 100k miles. Dynamat, interior swap to ebony, and stereo install will follow. I have the entire ebony interior ready to be plugged in, including new ultra-plush carpet with mass backing and a new headliner. Lots of work ahead of me. After that its suspension (KW Variant 3 coilovers and fully adjustable components) and brakes time, going with Z06 rotors and CTS-V calipers. I need to decide which motor build to go with, which block, blown or turbo, which heads and cam. Looking to get around 700rwhp.

Hey thanks for the compliments guys. The bird on the filler will be black, luckily for now the law here in Texas in regards to a front license plate has a loop hole. The legislation passed fairly recently states that it is ILLEGAL to not have a front license plate, but they left any defined punishment for violation off of that legislature. That basically means that no municipality has jurisdiction over handling the case, city or county, so you cant be tried for it. A cop can harass you for sure, he could even write a ticket, but a judge will throw it out because he doesnt have any legal ground to handle the case.

Some day that will go away and it will be illegal with fines again. Boooo!

lol. Blatantly ignore them? Thats all I can come up with! :headbang:

I'm thinking a cast iron block, 6.0L+, from a wrecked truck and build for turbos. What are your thoughts on motor build, keeping price point in mind?

Also, Im looking at KW Variant 3 coil overs, Im hoping that Bilstein will put out a Clubsport coil over for my car before Im ready to buy.

I'm more concerned with a touring setup rather than drag, I need to shop available suspension components geared toward road race/tour. Most everything for these cars seem to be geared for straight track.

My buddy just hooked up with thompson motorsports (sponser here) and picked up an iron 370, and is extremely satisfied with their service and pricing. And this is being built with a 300 shot in mind. So it prolly wouldn't hurt to look into them.

Here is a link to his build......http://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-racing-tech/1554951-lemons12-370-ls3-nitrous-build.html

And Im looking into a couple options for my car, and AES seems to be putting out some great products for pretty reasonable prices, so I would check them out as well.

Ive always been a fan of the SOM, great looking ride!

Thanks man, it's my dream car. I havent driven it in almost a year (currently in afghanistan). But I can't wait to get home and start the new build :)

Hey thanks man, I was back and forth on the deletes finally decided it makes it more unique so I went with it. I definitely want to go with a better wheel, but right now I need to spend the cash on other areas of the car. I will be coming back to the wheels. The ones I want are $1500 each.

How about some Kawasaki or lambo green pinstripes to divide the black and orange? I mean really small, like 1/8th" or less. Maybe yellow.... I think it might set it off more and make the colors really stand out even more.

The targa top is still removable. With it on, the cabin looks almost like an FRC Vette, I think. Also, when it's removed, you don't have that center bar anymore.

I'm buying one as soon as the fund permit it.

Yah man, I need to talk to them, it doesnt really bother me all THAT much, but I would much prefer it to be tighter. I was figuring that the hood pins may take out any possibility of tweaking the hood fitment.

These guys are buds, they wont mind and will shoot me straight. So I got that going for me. Im laying dynamat now and will install interior, and fiberglass an amp rack. At that point Ill be taking the amp rack to them to be painted along with the front bumper filler and talk about the hood fitment. The bumper also sags or is pinched or something right underneath the driver headlamp.

I really appreciate all of the feedback!!! You guys rock.

I think it's the sun and light, messing with the camera optics. I've seen this color before on a 1937 Kit Car. The pictures don't do it justice. Your car looks awesome!

I'm not liking that guy "Eric's" car as much because of the aero skirts. Sometimes, less is more. Are you going to mod the interior too? McNord gauges / HVAC, custom stitching or new covers altogether, dash, etc?. I can't wait to see the final product.

Thanks!

Im not a big fan of the ground effects either, too many lines IMO. You're right the pictures don't do it justice. I need to get a pro to grab some shots, where the pearl shows more.

I am going to customize the interior: Kevlar with orange thread mixed in wrapped around the the plastic that goes around the leather and arm rest. Resin filled and polished. The inner leather piece will be orange with black stitch near the edges, going all the way around. Or I may reverse that and do black with orange stitch. The seats will be black with orange stitching, I need to find someone that does good work. I like the look of the stock seats and would like to keep the same shape in the seat.

I am considering doing a 7" touchscreen fiberglassed in to the top of the dash to the right of the gauge cluster. I want to hook up a a pc with ODBII hook up and get some live data displayed. Will come in handy once this thing has turbos.

After I get the doors done I will decide if I want to do the rest of the interior paneling in kevlar/orange or carbon fiber or if I just want to keep it black.

I havent decided on anything else yet at this point.

I will definitely be posting pics along the way!

I have my new carpet mostly in, still need to trim the edges to make it fit, this carpet aint easy to work with.

CHEERS! :chug:

Around the black stripes to seperate them from the orange maybe an 1/8th inch wide.

WOW. That looks awesome! Adds a lot of depth. I'm gonna have to talk to the guys about doing that.

Now that's a good wifey! Miss you girl, you to brother. When I get down there, we will do all the body panel alignments!

Now this is how you install Dynamat! You have your wifey do it! :whip:

Silver pinstripes!

Dude! You're on crack. I dont think silver would look right next to this orange.

When are you moving back to Texas?

Color looks great, as does the paint work! However, the body lines are killing me, I hate seeing a beautiful car with gaps and uneven panels. That would be my number 1 concern. I'm sure you will get it all handled and taken care of.

Good luck,
Craig

Price actually wasn't bad, at $4500 in Ft Worth, TX. But I think that was the homeboy hook up price.

The hood, head light covers, bumper, fenders, lines, will all be addressed later on. It looks good enough for now.

I will tackle the line issues when the intercooler, HID head lamps and HID fog lamps go in.

Hey, thanks! I need some more parts, sltill have access to ebony/black interior parts?

I've been working with the Carbon Fiber / Kevlar door panel overlays. Its not coming out as clean as I would like. This has been a learning process no doubt. Here are a few pics...

Ive decided to go ahead with the battery relocation to the trunk also. Picked up two 200 amp circuit breakers, one for under the hood, one in the trunk with the gel cell battery.

I did, but I was really hoping for the orange in the kevlar to be more pronounced. Now it is like a red with an orange hue under direct sunlight. So I think I need to go with straight carbon fiber.

Also, now that I have put all of this feeble effort into something I just have to redo, Im contemplating taking it a step further.... making something truly unique. I dont want to say too much... but more will come.

How much fun is that carbon/Kevlar to cut? Damn I hate that stuff! It'll look great in the end though if you stick with it. Try coating it with the thick epoxy thats made for counter tops if you haven't gotten that already.
