I have a 2010 cobalt ss, and recently sold my 02 Trans am, and wanting a v8 again. I'm just wondering if everyone is liking them, I love the way they sound and they seem to perform just as good! Just wanting some opinions on them to try and lean me towards to get kne!

my cousin has one and i like it , he has an intake, cortex tuner and axle backs and it makes the car much more fun , great dd and the mileage is over 20 .

Any mods to the cobalt , i know a few friends with some fast ss tc's

Ive had mine alittle more than a month now, and couldnt be happier with it. Pretty close to stock right now and still plenty fun to drive, but hopfully that wont last too long.

if parts are what is steering you away by law when a vehical becomes out of perduction they have to make parts for said car for i think of a minum of 12 years after.

Many of the parts are completely unique to the car and are more expensive than items used to make on a GM fullsize truck or a F-body for instance.

We have had ours since March and love it.. Its a 09.. Bone stock it went 13.6@103.. The car gets crappy gas miles around town. We avg 16mpg but we live in Philly so we avg 20 mph or so city driving.. On the Highway we see 25-27 mpg.. We now have a Vararam intake on it and it was a big difference..

The Positives of this car..

1. They are rare.. everyone asks what kind of pontiac is that?
2. There is ton of space inside and the trunk
3. Have a good amount of options
4. Hondas dont really mess with you while driving because they dont know what kind of car you are in.
5. Car runs on 87 octane for a V8 which is really nice..

Negatives..

1. every aftermarket exhaust pretty much drones like crazy between 70-80mph. you can get GXP mufflers or Solo and it will cut out alot but they are not cheap.. 500 dollars for a Axle back that only gives you sound and little to no performance gain.. A catback is anywere from 800-1500 depending and thats were the power gain is from..

2. Parts are exspensive.. stock parts or aftermarket they are exspensive.. Excpect to pay close to 2000.00 for a Cold air intake and catback..

3. We have a GM warrenty but have to wait a long time before parts are in stock to get crap fixed..

4. Seats are nice but they really dont adjust to well..

5. worried about body damage and what not due to how rare these cars are.. Not alot of parts out there for cheap price..

Hope this helps.. Its a great car overall but can become exspensive real quick..

I listed mine for sale two weeks ago and have been getting a lot of action on it. I don't think I'm going to go through selling it though. The only reason I listed it is because I'm thinking of replacing it with a normal luxury car. But I know I would miss the GXP too much and it's too special of a car to get rid of. The resale value on nice ones is a nice perk of ownership.

Yeah with the Caprice SS coming out though for LEO's they will likely be making parts for a long while

You should Definately get one. Almost any part can be replaced with an aftermarket part. Good tuning support, easily upgradable, and a very rare car. I never see another g8 around me and makes you feel that you own a truly unique car.

And it's fast...

I've had a bunch of issues with mine (control arms, leaky seals, driveline vibrations, lifter ticking, etc.), but I still love it.
