Ive looked around and only seen a few things on removing air bags. Wondering if theres a fues for both air bags to disable them for the track or do i have to follow the wires and disconnect them that way? I saw under the glove box theres some yellow wires but figured id wait till i had a better answer before i started pulling them off

Yes, you have an air bag fuse.

That will disable both? Simple as that?

I would never do that if its a street car and you have passangers with you. Willing to wager lawsuit would follow if you tampered with the safety feature of the car and it lead to an injury. I look at that stuff like door bars and bumper supports. If its some street use, you should keep them in there.

The OP said "disable them for the track" which insinuates he'll reactivate them for street use.

Having said that, why would you want to disable them for the track only?

I busted an input shaft on my buddies car at the line, the shockload blew both airbags. Burned my arms, ruined the dash, steering wheel, and broke the windsheild! Not really sure how common it is, but I've also seen some videos of the same thing happen to Supras.

Yes, that is how you are instructed to service anything involving the air bags like pulling the steering wheel in any service manual I have ever read.

That means nothing. That would be "Assuming" and we all know what that means Joe.

Anyways.

As long as they enabled again that is just smart thinking. Personally never seen that when I have gone, never heard story on f bodies but with imports I am sure is a different story.

Some people get crazy with weight reduction and I am all bout lowering that but just throwing it out there for those who like to take door bars out and have no cage what so ever but drive most of the time on the street....

Yes just as B18 said I've seen a guy blow the airbags at the line from a hard launch and was nervous. But this isn't common? I won't disable them unless it needs to be done. And I've heard it has happened many times. I honestly would rather not but I just watched a few YouTube videos with f bodies blowing the bags at the line

Both sides have good points. I have the drivers disabled, and the pass side removed. I was worried that if it ever did go off it would jack me up. I started to worry about this when I installed my 5pt harness and racing seats.

It is a shame that we have to look at every thing like a lawyer.

Ya its awful. But what i was asking was how do we disable them and i didnt know that it was just a fuse. I'll disable it for the track ONLY i gotta be somewhat "safe" on the street. As safe as a 800hp car is lol

I removed the fuse then disconnected the yellow connector under the dash. You will get a warning light. You can install a resistor across the supply connector to turn off the light. Not sure on the size. I did it for the pass side years ago. You can buy a 10K pot and turn it slow till the light goes out.

2.5-3.0 ohm resistors should take care of the warning light. I think you would need four of them.
