Default major problem

I just bought a new ss hood for my z and like an idiot i bought it from an individual. The problem is is the hood hits the airbox when trying to position it. I really don't want to cut in the hood and i dont want to pay another 350 for a new air intake. Help please!

Huh? Is it a fiberglass hood from some random company or some guy did it in his living room? Is your car an LT or LS? What intake do you have? Pics would help.

It is fiberglass. The guy said he got it as a gift but he didnt want it. It is a 2000 Camaro with an LS1. It is an SLP air box. and I have no idea how to post pics but even if I did I dont have any and I went home cause I am really irritated...

Some earlier hoods used to have that problem I know of. Do a search on it, Im sure you will find something.

post up your question in the appearance section, or do a search there. its a very known problem, certain lids don't work so well with certain hoods. I have the same problem with my slp lid and ws6 aftermarket hood. I can still close the hood, they just touch a bit.

My ws6 hood had to be notched for the larger SLP lid also... as did my buddys ws9 hood but his was from having a clear 102mm lid haha
