3600-4000 is about right. My converter will go about 5400, 13.2:1 389ci with a HR 267°/272° .695/.690. Best 1/4 mile pass was 12.20

Thats a really big cam and a really slow pass for a Th400 car, was there something hurt on the motor?

I see hvyss hasn't responded, but he's running a TH400 (2.48 low gear), PTC3800 converter (picked for nitrous), and a small 22x/23x HR (similar numbers to your XFI280) in his 385. That car has gone a best NA of 11.01 @ 121. It's an ImpalaSS, so a lot heavier than what you're probably looking at.

Are you stock cubes, or stroker?

Not sure what condition his car was in, but 11.2 at 3000 DA isn't bad, and i wouldnt consider a 248int big for a 385. Wickeds cam on the other hand :o...

No ****...119+ mph through the 3-speed slushbox apparently means nothing.

I guess it would be slow, either way throw on a 200 shot and run mid 9s all day.
Where a 4 speed you will be lucky to break 9.9x

Most guys typically shave .4-.6 off of their initial passes with simple tweaks over the next few months. so his 11.2's would probably end up becoming 10.6-10.8's after he messes with the tune, changes plugs, changes tire pressure, launch rpm, oil level, adjusts the suspension, etc. 3000ft da is not very good air to be running in. If he were to run in some good air in the fall, he'd be in the 10's as it sits.

OP- are you dead set on running a th400? Why not a th350?
