Hotcam. I had one years ago and it made surprisingly good power. It also sounded good.

I know you said no other recommendations, but if you're looking at the hotcam, you may also want to check out the GMPP ASA cam.

Texas Speed-220r 220/220 .581/.581 sleeper camthis cam has -8* of overlap vs. the hotcams -1.5* so it's alot more likely to run on a mail order tune. You could probably step you to the 224R on a 114lsa and still get buy with a mail order tune but when it really comes down to it you really should get a dyno tune with any cam install.

People on here are bad about shoving their opinions down your throat even when you ask them not too...

I had a hotcam once in my old car. It was a great little cam. It will give you good driveability with a nice performance gain, and give you a great lopey sound. It sounds much bigger than it is. For what you are looking for just depends on if you want to be stealthy (LS6 cam) or make a little more sound (hotcam). I don't feel you can go wrong with either cam for what you want out them.

I agree^ and thanks for the info! My main think is I want a cam with my ls6 springs so I can "set it and forget it". And since the hot cam makes more power and will get me a little more gains I will probably go with it if I can find one for a reasonable price. I already bought a cam from an 04 z06 with ls6 springs and ls6 cam. So I will prob end up selling the cam and looking for a hot cam.

what exactly do you mean "up top"? Like top end from 100mph + or do you mean will pull better with more rpm? I don't want a high reving cam. I will shift the car at 6400 rpm

I meant higher rpm. It will make peak power at about 6400 and keep carrying that power better than the hot cam. You could shift it at about 6600.

It makes power lower than 6400, more like 6200 with LS6 intake. IMO the Hotcam is better for your needs.

Try EBay or just google it there are mail order places like PartsTaxi that have the GM cams on special at various times for like $165.

Not from my experience. Although mine is a crate ls6 I have my limiter @ 7000 and shift @ about 6800. Power never seems to fall off.
