My car is leaking oil coming from the transmission area. At first I thought it was coming from my valve covers because they were leaking. Replaced gaskets everything seems dry back there now. Checked back of flywheel for rear main and it's bone dry. (I replaced the rear main the first time. I checked the oil pressure sender location and the valley cover. There's oil coming down the sides of the block and it's all over the starter and oil filter. Any ideas where? As soon as I shut the car off it starts dripping pretty steadily. I just had the block rebuilt. Any ideas where it could be coming from?

350z with an ERL 434 stroker. So I pulled an all nighter. I removed the transmission and the clutch was a little wet with oil and it was in and around the pilot bearing. The rear main seal was bone dry but for good measure I replaced both that and the timing cover gasket. I also sealed the SHIT out of the crank plug just to be sure. Took the car out for a ride today after replacing everything (even replaced the valve cover gaskets) and the leak is still there......what else could possibly leak? The start and the oil filter are both wet..the back of the flywheel is dry..I really have no idea where this thing could be leaking from.

The 6 flywheel bolt holes in your rear crank flange are thru holes. You have to put sealant on them or oil will pass through the flange from the crank case.

Put the new cap in and put grey silicone sealant all in there and the leak is finally gone...for how long who knows..but it went from horrible to gone.
