Default Using 5.3 crank with 5.7 pistons and rods.

Thinking of piecing together an iron block 5.7 using regular ls1 pistons and rods with the 5.3 crank. I know the 5.3 crank is the same as the 5.7 crank just differing in balance and also not being gun drilled. Has anybody ever mated this combo together and had it balance right or is it too much work to be feasible.

Check out Thompson motorsports. They use an iron block 346. Heavier but can withhold more than stock aluminum block. Good for boost/nitrous. THey should be able to help you out more. Contact Kyle at Thompson Motorsports
