General Maintenance & Repairs - Air Conditioning: No cold air; Tried to recharge

My AC in my firebird recently stopped blowing cold air. I tried the recharge kit and didn't have any luck. The condensor seems like it is turning on. What's the next step to fixing this without spending a whole lot of cash?

I think you need a new car.

Did u empty the can when you recharged it? Still no cold air?

I was using this btw. EZ Chill R134 kit.
http://www.cjrel.com/Interdynamics-EZ-Chill-R-134a-Refrigerant-Plus-Oil-with-Leak-Sealer-18-oz-MAC-134-jp12240178/

I used about a quarter of the can. When I was spraying it in the guage was reading red "danger zone", so I took it off. I put the guage on it by itself and it read "0 PSI".

Should I of just kept spraying it in? I know theres nothing in there but that guage was scaring me.

I used the same thing. I really can't tell you to do it. The gauge on mine didn't move anywhere but it did recharge & I have cold air..Mine was always in the green, are you using the right port? It's the port right on the can, not the one near the radiator.

Yeah I'm using the right port. I'm thinking that maybe this gauge doesn't even work. I'm just going to empty the whole thing in and see what happens.

need more info. is the compressor coming on? if so, when it comes on, is the electric fan also coming on? if i recall, these cars should have two fans....and both should run any time the compressor's running.
if the compressor isn't running, you need to find out why. check pressure. check fuses, and relays. check the low pressure cut off switch.

also, check the onoff switch.

The compressor and the electric fan both come on. I've ran it for a while and it just blows hot air. Kind of odd.

the accumulator should be right near the p/s fenderwell. feel that. it should be cold. if it is, then your problem is inside the car. if it isn't, then we need to see what the pressures are. on average, r134a systems run between 30-40psi on the low side, and between 225 and 275 on the high side.
