Hello everyone,

I have a 2002 TA that has several bolt-ons. I am curious about my LS6 intake that comes stock with this year TA. How is this intake compared to the FAST intakes? I've always thought the pre 2001 LS1 cars are the main beneficiaries of buying an aftermarket intake, but what about us with the LS6 intake. Would it be a waste of money to buy a 92/102 FAST?
Thank you for your input!

youd still see a solid increase over the ls6 intake. whether the extra 10-15rwhp is worth it to you tho is the question and also wut future plans you have for your engine

a FAST with a TB youll have descent gains. a tune is recommended.

It all boils down to what you consider a waste of money. You will basically be spending $800+ to get 10rwhp (at your current configuration). If you do a mild heads and cam you might get 15-20rwhp.

To sum it up, not worth it to me unless I was running nitrous, a max effort N/A setup, or forced induction.

I wouldnt waste my money on a fast for fi,there good for na setups, and maybe a lil spray, on a bolt on car imo fast is not worth it,that money is better spent on a cam/heads etc, stick with your ls6 for awhile untill you grow out of it, and port your stock tb

To me, it depends on what you plan to do with the car. If you are leaving it how it is, or plan on doing just a mild cam or something of that nature, then I would say that the LS6 will be sufficient. However, if you plan on taking the car and adding some kind of forced induction or doing a radical N/A setup or something like that, then I would definitely go ahead and work towards getting the FAST because that's where they really tend to shine. It will help you either way you go, but it really just depends on what your priorities are with your car and money.

Buy a 92! $850. Sell your LS6 for $350. That's what I see them go for in the classified. You will be $500 in a new intake. But of course you will have to throw $350 on a NW TB so it's $850 either way but you will always have room to grow. I forgot to mention you can sell your stock TB for $75ish no sensors. That's what I would do since they are back now

Stock internal keep the LS6 unless you are trying to go max effort at the track, otherwise put a FAST on

As everyone else said.. its really up to if you want to spend the money. Will you gain HP? Yes... Is it worth the +$850? Probably not. You are talking like ~5-15rwhp at best with just bolt ons.

Stick with the LS6 and get a cam! Worth more power and costs less money. Give us a call, we would be happy to spec you something.

^^What he said. Fast intake=10hp, a mid sized cam=30-40hp.

John Janz, I've already been checking out your site and really want an MS3 with a 3600 stall. Installing (or getting these installed) is my main concern, unfortunately :(

The people that work for fast are extremely greedy.

LS6 ftw imo

Yeah is the initial cost is the same, but you have to realize with the FAST92 intake you can reuse you factory fuel rail, with the 102 you can't do that. So on average the 102 will cost you $200 more than the 92 since you'll need new fuel rails.
Plus, the re-released 92 looks so much better in black now. :D

I thought about getting one. Then I saw the price and wondered why I shouldnt be surprised.

get the stall and cam over any intake. the stall alone will seem like a whole new car. if its a daily driver i would go with the yank 3200.
