Took a few trips to the track and couldn't get 11s last year. Well this year I finally got my car to hook up. I didn't change anything except took a little weight out. Personal best was 12.3 with a 1.8 60 ft. Today I ran
60' 1.653
1/8 7.601@ 90.27
1/4 11.943@ 113.50
My cars a 98 trans am vert. With full bolts on, 4k stall, 3.73 and tourqer 3 cam.
I was launching right at 2k on 315/35/17 nitto nt05r. I finally found out to put them around 18psi and roast them up and they stick pretty good.
Felt really good to finally get in the 11s. Maybe if it wasn't 88 out I could have went even faster.
I got kicked out my 5th run bc I do not have a roll bar / cage. So currently I was going to install a 100 shot of nitrous but now I need a cage. Time to save I guess

Congrats! That sucks about the cage deal. I never really think about it because the tracks around here could care less. Kinda sucks because its a vert though.

Ya and they uses to make a roll bar so pretty much I need a cage which Im trying to get as much weight out of the car as I can.

Well that is crap because the cage cutoff is 11.499. Must be the convertable rule? What did you do differently to go from 1.8s to 1.5 60s?

it was a 1.6 60 ft and what I did different was double checking to make sure my psi was at 18 and the best rpm I found was to launch at 2,000 rpms. The track prep was great too.

Track prep helps a lot. Must be a automatic trans?

I actually need to get on the scale , I have some weight reduction . I with the car was a lot a lot lighter. It could easily be in the mid 11s

Yup 4k stall
You have a 4k stall and only launch at 2k? why such a big stall then? are you on a 2step?

I'm on nittos drag radials , anything higher I couldn't launch that great, it spun the tires pretty good. Also no 2 step

If you plan on getting an extra set of wheels get some m/ts or hoosier drag radials just for the stickyness. you can launch that thing at 4k.lol! but if the nittos are on your street wheels thats fine. they have a longer tread life. the other drag radials have a small street life if drivin everyday lol

Thanks guys. I have been trying to trade my zr-1 rims for a drag set up. I only drive the car once a week so mileage isnt that big of a deal. I just went with the nittos because I dont go to the track that often. Also if I do go back ill need to get a cage in my car. Boooo

Just wondering but if I went with a nice set of heads what do you guys think my times would be. I'm wondering how much more tenths I could drop seeing in still on stock 98 heads

At least 2 or 3 tenths.
