How many miles are on your stock chain? I only had 5K on mine when I did the cam so I saw no reason to replace it.

I did my head/cam swap with about 25,000 miles and could advance/retard the cam at least 1 or 2 degrees just with the slack in the factory chain (checked this before I removed anything....). Get the double roller from sdpc2000.com. Its will last forever and you can advance/retard the cam with the keyways in the crank sprocket.
