Hey guys! I have a 2012 gmc sierra with about 1100 miles. Can I go ahead and switch to synthetic, and get the break-in oil out? With the mileage on the vehicle, will the rings be seated enough yet? I have done quite a bit of searching and never really got a straight answer on this. Thanks for the input.

Engines are broken in before they leave the factory. I'd give it till around 2k miles. No reason to waste perfectly good oil.

Yep I would use Mobil 1 5w-30...it is "dexos" approved which is what GM uses

Normally the LS engines come from the factory with 5W-30 synthetic. :)

At 500km's (~300miles) oil was changed for Castrol Edge 10w-60.:engarde:
