That pesky 5.0 that was always edging me at the end... Finally got puppy kicked from any speed roll.

The infamous 96cobra on spray, got walked from a 30 40 and dig...
The cobra is dead even with my buddy's 04 Termi, that was suppouse to race me, but bitched out. And didnt show... The termi has pullied blower, full exhs, cai, 373's, and 100 wet shot.

A fellow trans am 6 speed ls1 with big cam 410's full exhst, and free mods, didnt stand a chance.

I can finally say, my Trans AM is fast...

350lbs is a good amount of weight, he is full interior you had no interior just one seat. You had a 450lb advantage over him, def would change the outcome of a race.

Not saying anything, just saying with an extra 450lbs in his car and an ls1 intake its apparent who would win. You're not defying gravity here.

My car is a dog with a full tank and a 160lb passenger, i cannot imagine 350lbs.

My camera man is in fact 350 pounds or more actually. My car is full interior, sure the cam is huge but I still have stock 853s/LS1 intake. Car is also untuned, made 445 on a Dyno Dynamics dyno and 398 on a Mustang dyno. I really don't put a lot of weight into dyno numbers as we all know they're drastically different from dyno to dyno.

My car trapped 115 at the track last year with no launch and a bad tranny.

I think a tune and no passenger would definitely close the gap between us for sure. I was about 1-2 cars behind the sprayed 96 Cobra when we ran it.

Also, two of those races between our T/A's and the 5.0 were bad for me. One I couldn't hear the horn and the other I rolled up just as he was honking so I just took off when I heard his exhaust.

And here he is...^^^ That was from a 40 roll, and he runs out of gear at 120... at the end you can see how he slows down. The same way he pulled you, I pulled him... Cant reallly say much more.

Dont tune yet, save a couple of hundred bucks for an ls6 intake, upgrade heads, and then tune. Spend your cash wisely! Its the only way you'll get ahead.

Just keep in mind, Im not done... Gears are next, and then Some. It might take you some time to catch up. But will race you anytime to see if you gain from current baseline.

^^^ wrong... It actually put down 389/428tq. It weighs in at around 3000. My ride is at around 3800 me in it.

Havn't done bumper supports just because I still DD the car. Dont wanna do door bars. Its already got ac, air, egr removed. Exhaust dumped, saving like 35 lbs off the tail. All heat shielding, stock exhaust hangers, rear seats and seatbelts, jack/spare, lower trunk everything all removed. I've been wanting to get on a scale, just waiting for my buddy to let me use his 4 corner scale. What I really need/want is some drag wheels, these zr1's are sooo damn heavy

Never thought of a different battery, good call. CF driveshaft is a good idea too, mine is heavy as hell but I bet it gets expensive quick. I've been wanting a BMR front kmember and a arm setup to match my rear end pieces. A buddy fo mine runs no front sway bar and he says it feels normal with his strut tower brace on. Plan on doing that next track day. Thanks for the info. By the way I'm really happy with the catch can I got from you a couple months ago, its a nice piece

He is cam only, along with lts etc... Got his tune and made 418rwhp/390Tq. Dynapack dyno. I say, thats impressive for the mods.

Im throwing some spray on top of my mods... 150 wet shot should see 500/540 rwhp. Then its on!

Why such low numbers? Not to be a dick but my bone stock t/a made 315 to the wheels. And I can't wait to see those races. I hope I get to race you before the spray lol.

This was at me? Saying my #s are low? I dont think they are low for a stalled auto on a mustang dyno. My auto actually made 316rwhp catback/lid on dynojet. Manuals always make more on dynos. Dyno #s dont mean to much. Dyno is just a tool to tune the car. I would say my car at 326rwhp doing 11.9 in -187 da is pretty damn good.

For the record... I started in 3rd gear on that last race to even things out, I told you i was going to do so, to make it more even before the race, and was a 40 roll, my worst speed... handicap run. Passenger and tune deff helped you out, and you are fast as fuck now. I just dont see a cam only car hanging with me that well, Maybe its the 410 vs my stock 323's. But damm!!! How does your tranny not automatically go to 2nd at that speed? Can you just put it in 3 and it won't downshift? I've never driven an auto f body so I don't know.

Before anything, I REALLY need wheels and tires, my shitty knock off ZR1s and 255 Kumho's don't allow me to use 1st gear and launching is just about useless. More power would just amplify my glaring traction issue lol

hell my car with a cracked intake went 116mph lol but anyway like i said your car didnt make the pull in 3rd gear. you gave up a car length or so by making it downshift its self but thats it.

i hope your just manually downshifting the trans to get the correct gear and not manually shifting your trans.... and like i said its worth a bout a car or so dropping it down yourself... but the trans is still dropping down to the correct gear.

This is freaking hilarious. "I started in 3rd". Come on man. It was fair run and your stalled auto downshifted properly and hit the stall like it should. Unless you have a manual valve body but doesn't look like it.

Thanks man... I agree on the smaller cam, no need for big cams, and expensive supporting mods to make it run decent. As you stated, its all about a good set up, which was mainly recommendations from guys here on this site.

It was on a DynoJet... I also thought they where a lil high, but then again, i remember on one pull with locked Torque Converter it said 401lbs of TQ. I try not to get too caught up in dyno numbers, and see the performance.

No full weight minus passenger delete.

This time around i only had the rear seat removed, with a passenger tho, rear seats dont weigh much. Its the buckets that do, and usually run with only my seat.

Dyno numbers are so overrated, if they were all corrected and read the same it'd be fine, but there's a billion different dynos out there so it's a crapshoot. Same mods over the last year I've dynoed 445hp, 398hp and 418hp. Dyno Dynamics dyno on a humid 100 degree day in CT, Mustang Dyno on a cool 60 degree day in CT and last one was on the Dyna Pack hub dyno, 95 degrees, 55% humidity in Cedar Park.

Nitrous always helps make up for the smaller cam though right?

^^^ wrong... It actually put down 389/428tq. It weighs in at around 3000. My ride is at around 3800 me in it.

If I leave it in drive and jump on it at a 40 I smoke not just spin but make the car behind me slow down smoke my tires. And my buddies with manuals always are in a higher gear when I was in my stock trans am.

But hey maybe im wrong, I haven't had my Camaro on the dyno yet but I just expected a bigger gain then that with full exhaust and a tune. What kind of tune was it just a afr tune or did they do more adjusting to timing and fuel also? My buddy with a mustang made 252 on a dyna pack dyno then was tuned on a mustang dyno and made 16 just off the tune. But hey then again maybe mustangs tune different. I'll be sure to have this figured out in a few weeks when I put mine on the dyno

Its an stalled auto on a mustang dyno thats the explaination right there lol.
My car also dynoed 337/343 on a dynojet before the stall. Dont drive yourself nuts thinking about #s because they dont mean jack if the car dosent run at the track. :)

Numbers are to brag, results is where its at. I dynoed 365 HP/364tq, with Shorty headers, and stock exhst. After stall, I made 330 HP/309tq... After long tubes n ory, I hit 355HP/33X tq... But performs well, abd love being the underdog, with less HP numbers. Until the converter gets locked, then the numbers go much higher.
