The LS1 is a gen III and the LS2 is a gen IV. The 6.0 truck engine can be either a III or a IV.
First, you have to use the correct reluctor, most LS1 engines will be a 24X while the LS2 can be either a 24X or a 58X.
You'll need the LS2 timing cover with camshaft position sensor, LS2 valley cover, LS2 lifter trays, LS2-specific 1x timing set, and plug-n-play harness extensions for the camshaft position sensor and knock sensor.
Knock sensors need to be addressed. The best option seem to be using the LS1 knock sensors relocated to the side of the engine which requires drilling and tapping to fit (Use a hand drill and 8.5mm drill bit to open up the blind M8 female threaded bosses on each side of the block).
You'll probably want to use your existing oil pan, oil pump, oil pickup tube, dipstick, dipstick tube, balancer/pulley, water pump, and front engine accessories.
Obviously, it will need to be retuned.

Doing the genIII lq4/9 will be the easier way to simply swap the block and transfer everything over from the ls1 without having to relocate or extend sensors. All you would need is a retune but it will run..just not well.
