Default Junkyard 6.0's chime in please on your experience

Im curious of those who picked up junkyard motor 6.0's....... How do I know the rod bearings or cam bearings wont be smoked? If im mistaken a compression check or leakdown test wont be able to indicate those problems correct? Im not looking for more problems.. just bolt in and go with the 317's or 241's i already have.

I bought mine from LKQ corp. for $1100 They claimed 55k miles. Was pretty clean inside.

Been rockin' and rollin' for a year now. Runs like a scolded dog. No problems.

Junk yards are in the business of selling engines. If it doesn't run take it back.

What is helpful is if you can see the vehicle driveline parts come from.

If you see a vehicle that was mangled in a wreck then you know it was drivable when it's useful life ended. If you find a car in drivable condition in the boneyard then you have to question if it was drivetrain that sent it there.
