What to expect out of this setup!!
Im getting ready to start building my engine and wanted to know everyones thoughts, opinion, and any suggestions. I want to know what to expect out of this setup.CompCam 220/230 duration .564/.572lift with a 144+4 lsa, 799 Heads, LS6 intake, stock lid, LT's/ORY. Its through a stock A4 tranny. Ive done a bit of research on similar setups and they put out about 450hp through a M6. Im hoping to get 400RWHP through this setup. I was planning on doing stage 1 porting on the heads.
Please everyone give your thoughts and opinions!

Sounds like a decent setup, not too sure it will make 400 rwhp without a little more port work and a good tune. The a4 sucks up quite a bit of HP. Just put a good convert or in it, some sticky tires and worry about what it does at the strip. Dynos are for tuning. My. 02
Man reread this and thought it sounded harsh. The 98 in my sign only dynoed 373 rwhp and ran those numbers at 3450# race weight. Needless to say it had to put down more power than that to run that number, so that's why I say dynos are for tuning.

As far as porting, I would say get the best your budget can afford. Think overall what you want out of the car and look at other setups of cars that are performing the way you want yours to. And I mean this in the nicest ways, don't use the dyno as your only judge.
For example, I am on a budget(like everyone) so I will be getting either Patriots or PRC ls6 heads and then I will choose a cam based on the heads and what I want to achieve. I will start out keeping the ls6 intake, but probably will do a fast intake when money will allow it. I just swung a deal on some TSP 1-7/8" headers and will get their off road y to go with(currently have slp headers). I have a stall, don't know exactly which one as it was in the car when I bought it. Once you put a cam in an A4 car, you will want a stall to maximize the gain, even a 2800-3200 will feel a lot better. I can say I want to see over 400 rwhp, but it doesn't ealy matter to me as long as it performs the way I want it to. My old car ran those times in 2001, so much has changed since then. I drove that car from VA to C and got 24 MPG then. No dyno tune or anything with ported 853s and a B1 can. Needless to say I expect better performance from the new setup and better drive ability.

I see what your saying and you explained it to a 19 year old newbie damn well. And i just want it to perform good like you said as well. It would be also nice to prove that its a true 400RWHP to others that wont believe me. but i guess thats what the track is for
